"HOMELAND MONTESPLUGA". IT&´S A PROJECT THAT FOCUSES ON THE MOUNTAINOUS AREA SURROUNDING THE ALPINE VILLAGE OF MONTESPLUGA AND LOOKS TO THE FUTURE, TO A NEW TYPE OF TOURISM, TO AN EVOLUTION OF WHAT IS ALREADY THE CONCEPT OF SKI MOUNTAINEERING, AND FREERIDE.
The initiative supported by the Lombardy Region, has become a reality thanks to the Municipality of Madesimo. the Consorzio Turistico di Madesimo, the Consorzio Turistico della Valchiavenna, the Comunità Montana and the Consorzio Alpe Monte Spluga. Institutions that believed in and gave the green light to the Spiagames Agency, already appreciated for having created the Madesimo Freeride Festival in recent years. Thanks to the collaboration of relevant brands in the sector like Ortovox, Salomon, Union Binding, Homeland Montespluga had already permitted a host of skiers to get close to or indeed to perfect their "culture" of off-piste skiing through a range of opportunities in Val Loga.
The Homeland Montespluga propositions will be in evidence once again in winter 2022/2023 and will be concerned with: rental of equipment, the installation of an Artva Gate and a map showing the most celebrated outings. But also the presence of a restaurant serving simple meals or hot drinks. Services which act as a backdrop to all the activities planned by the Homeland staff available on site every winter weekend (Friday - Sunday) in premises made good by the Consorzio Alpe Spluga, and made possible by the professionalism of the Guide Alpine di Mountain 360. Courses linked to backcountry, freeride and to safety as well as the use of ARTVA; but also skialp excursions of varying difficulty with even the option of an overnight in a tent. In short: the promotion of skialp and freeride for everyone, in a context with safety at a premium, and proposals based on individual experience. Looking to the future, Homeland Montespluga hopes like everyone else for some decent snowfalls for the good of both mountain and environment, and is already hard at work to replicate last season&´s initiatives.
