each new winter season throws up for visitors to Madesimo. Naturally there are the classic outings on snow racquets, long descents on the fantastic slopes within the vast Skiarea, but if the winter ‘faithful’ look a little further afield they’ll find other attractions equally exciting.

There’s an open invitation this season to enjoy the magnificent Alpine panoramas of the upper Valle Spluga by joining in the snowmobile excursions that the Team Extreme Team in Madesimo organise.
Getting about using this means of transport could not be easier and affords access to some of the most impressive and naturalistic corners of our Alpine arc. And that’s precisely what is behind the thinking of Team Extreme Team: to facilitate movement for guests to wonderful
yet previously inaccessible locations. During the last few years more and more people have made a point of becoming ‘part of’ the Team extreme Team - including some familiar names - as a glance at the the guest-book reveals: Valentino Rossi, Anna Valle, J Ax and Dj Jad of Articoli 31, the ‘hyena’ Luigi Pelazza, footballer Gianluca Zambrotta, the ex Italian coach Roberto Donadoni, and the late Mike Bongiorno to mention just a few.
The outings proposed by the Madesimo organisation are bound by some hardand- fast regulations: each trip takes place along prepared tracks which meander along the Andossi ridge linking Madesimo with it’s neighbour Montespluga. Other than individual outings on snowmobile, there are also possibilities of group excursions along with an escort who will provide all the necessary support. The tracks follow the slopes of valley sides and are suitable even for the inexperienced ‘pilot’. Importantly the sign-posting and well-maintained
trails guarantee the safety of all concerned. It’s possible to get as far as the Passo dello Spluga above Montespluga at 2000 metres plus, right at the Swiss border. This involves following the final kilometres of the Statale 36, closed to traffic in wintertime. Night excursions are also proposed - incorporating dinner at a mountain refuge and the marvel of observing star-studded skies from the best imaginable viewpoints.
