Acquarela is a seriously complex Kaleidoscopic observation platform for observing the diversity of the human condition. But at the same time it’s a sort of ideal, albeit make-believe, world. A short circuit of alternate energy, the ebb and flow of Alpine conscience, a meeting place for small cuddly bears; all in all a familiar, everyday setting, deconstructed. That is to say – Acquerela is a familyrun music bar.
So who goes there? It’s tempting simply to say – everybody, but….. Anyway, there’s Aldo, the plumber from San Cassiano down the valley, Gianna, involved with a renowned Swiss multinational company, Carneade, when he’s not studying at IED, Mattia, a young snowboarder ‘on the rocks’, Paoletta, highly-respected pensioner from Vespuggio, there’s Uma, agile and neurotic in equal measure. She’s a dog. And then there’s Ginco, old-style German engineer.
And how do I get there? Come by ski, or snowboard, on foot or snow racquets, parachute on Sundays or at worst via webcam when you’re back in the office.
Okay, but where exactly is it? Difficult to say. It’s certainly near the source of the spring bearing the same name, but that’s not much help in winter….. Better to trust to your second senses then, scent… touch, that’s the natural, genuine route to Acquarela.
And when’s the best time?
Either before or after sunset. Earlier for a break during skiing, but then afterwards for dinner with Liza Minelli or maybe Groucho Marx. Particularly though for a few minutes ‘respite’ from the slopes, but let’s not overdo it chaps, keep moving, people, yes you too…..
A final question: why should I really come to Acquarella? Questions, questions, questions. I’m not sure I’ve got the time, or patience. Find out everything you need to know at the web-site: www.acquarela.it Thank you but I’ve an appointment with my love-struck cats.
(Apparently it’s also an infopoint for lessons for ski, freerider, snowboard and telemark, offers hot traditional dishes daily, solarium, a classic bombardino for weary snowboarders, and is available for parties, dinners, with live music etc. but why not find out for yourself?).
