The fantastic 4

Four brothers living and working in Madesimo, all qualified ski instructors who have grown up with the snow serving almost as their daily bread. Still together today and united by a common passion for skiing and the mountains. This is their story.

That short introduction should be enough to sum up the essence of the bond that unites Andrea, Davide, Nicola and Michele. Four individuals for sure but with equally parallel stories. And all characterised by a proximity to that most celebrated and high-profile of winter sports, skiing itself, undertaken with an intensity ensuring that it remains a full-time occupation all the year round. Alpine DNA. Something rather special was to point them towards the winter environs - in fact it was already coursing through their veins.

Father Antonio – Madesimo D.O.C and cousin of the celebrated champion Italo Pedroncelli - had himself donned the regalia of the Fiamme Oro ski sports team, as well as being an instructor. Mum Paola, on the other hand hails from Bormio, that sublime territory in upper Valtellina noted as the birthplace of many champions in the world of modern skiing. The remainder was all down to the qualities of Madesimo and its surrounding peaks, where the Pedroncelli brothers spent their childhood and put down some serious markers.
Despite the fact that their lives have moved in different directions, the “Pedro” - as they are invariably known in the town - the world of skiing has remained a genuinely common denominator. Currently they work together as ski instructors and run a rental point for ski equipment in the popular Alpine resort. Different characters, different talents but with the invaluable capacity of working together and taking full advantage of their close family bond.

Andrea, represents the veteran;
b. 1973, and just like his brothers took to the snow as a toddler. His experience in racing led to an all-round expertise in skiing and necessary techniques. He inevitably joined the national ski squad as “Skiman” and trainer. It’s a depth of knowledge that stands him in good stead in his role as teacher and coach in Madesimo in winter and on the glaciers in summer.

Michele, b.1987, manager;
ski instructor and trainer, is also the man at the business end of the
“Pedro Ski Center” rental point in Madesimo. Methodical yet flexible he somehow manages to juggle his different courses and training activities with running the store itself. A veritable beacon for staff and customers alike.

Nicola takes on the role of tutor;
b. 1980 after a stunning career at national level, he was able to craft a particularly effective role as coach of teams of young skiers. His meticulous preparation, combined with healthy doses of both determination and patience, have made him a genuine point of referral amongst potential future champions.

Davide is the strategist;
b. 1974 and is responsible for the design of training programmes directed towards the real champions of the squad. Many of his students over the years have been selected for the Comitato Alpi Centrali or featured in the ranks of the nazionali Fisi, such as Giulia Morini and Carlo Beretta. He’s a much-appreciated talent.
